Quality

The management of the University of Seville Library is guided by the principles of total quality, based on the conviction that a service can only be considered optimal when it meets the needs of the user and provides an acceptable level of satisfaction. In line with this, the Library has adopted a management model based on the principles of quality and continuous improvement, aimed at achieving a service of excellence.

EFQM European Seal of Excellence 700 (2025)

The Club of Excellence in Management has awarded us the 700 Seal, which recognises the highest level of excellent, innovative and sustainable management. The assessment, carried out in accordance with the EFQM 2025 Model, awarded us 704 points. The Library is the third organisation to reach this level and the first university library to do so, establishing us as a national benchmark in the field of management.

To obtain the Seal, the Library underwent a rigorous external assessment. In their report, the assessors highlighted the following strengths:

  • A shared leadership model that fosters a high level of staff engagement.
  • A service-oriented organisational culture, with a clear mission, commitment and strong teamwork.
  • Solid and mature management of data, information and knowledge, whilst also acting as a provider of strategic data for the University of Seville (accreditation processes, research CVs, etc.).
  • Proactivity and a constant drive for change and innovation, with a culture of continuous improvement as a distinctive feature.
  • Comprehensive system for identifying needs and expectations
  • The Good Practice Conferences (16 editions) are extremely useful for sharing knowledge and, at the same time, recognise the contributions of individuals, which is a constant feature at BUS.
  • The BUS has a highly mature and comprehensive governance and management system, evidenced by its 20-year track record with the EFQM Model

A collective effort by the entire team that reinforces its role as a key service for the University of Seville and as a model for other university libraries, both nationally and internationally.

We will continue to move forward, with professionalism and commitment, to improve our services and respond to the new challenges of the university environment.
