Rules for using the reading rooms

Who is allowed to use the reading rooms?

  • Use of the reading rooms is open to all library users.
  • During exam periods, priority for the use of reading stations is given to the university community.

Guidelines for the proper use of the reading rooms

  • Silence must be observed in the study and consultation rooms, as well as in the library entrance areas.
  • Smoking (or vaping) is not permitted, nor is the consumption of any food or drink (except water).
  • Mobile phones must be set to silent mode at all times.
  • Personal mobility vehicles and any other large items that may hinder the safe evacuation of the room are not permitted, except for those used by people with reduced mobility.
  • Study spaces may not be reserved for others.
  • If a reading space remains unoccupied for more than 30 minutes, it may be taken by another person. To do so, a form must be requested at the counter, on which library staff will note the time, serving as proof that the space is unoccupied.
  • Users consulting a library item in the Reading Room are responsible for ensuring it remains in good condition and is well looked after.
  • During the examination period, the use of reading stations is prioritised for the University Community.
