Rights

To have a variety of environments and spaces that stimulate and facilitate learning, teaching or research:

Extended opening hours.

Equipment for accessing and consulting digital information resources 

Equipment for reproducing the information required.

 

Responsibilities

Help to maintain a suitable and quiet environment, and avoid any activity that disturbs reading, consultation and study, always respecting other users. To this end:

Remain silent.

Do not reserve seats for others.

Do not occupy seats for longer than a brief break or the time needed to use other Library services.

Do not smoke.

Maintain a standard of personal hygiene that is not offensive and does not cause a nuisance to other users and library staff.

Respect the facilities, equipment and areas designated for each type of activity.

Help to keep the reading room tidy and clean.

Information resources

Rights

Access to high-quality information resources appropriate to the degree programmes offered at this University:

  • Books, journals, CD-ROMs, audiovisual resources, maps, plans, etc.
  • Access to information on the internet using public computers.

 

Duties

To take care of library and documentary materials:

  • Do not underline or write in books.
  • Do not tear out pages.
  • Do not open books in an inappropriate manner.

Help to keep the shelves tidy by placing books you have consulted on the trolleys or in the furniture provided for that purpose.

Comply with current legislation on intellectual property when making copies of both printed and electronic documents, as well as with international recommendations on paper conservation, particularly with regard to the Old Collection.

Make responsible use of electronic resources. 

Services

Rights

Access to services designed to meet information needs:

  • On-site consultation of all works in the Library.
  • Loan of library items in accordance with the Loan Regulations.
  • Requesting documents from other libraries.
  • Requesting the purchase of new titles, provided they form part of the Library’s acquisition policy.
  • Information on the Library’s operating rules.
  • Personalised service.
  • Advice on searching for and retrieving information from specialist library staff, covering both the Library’s own collections and the collections and services of other libraries and information services.
  • Training in skills to access and use information ethically and effectively.
  • Participate and collaborate with the Library through the channels created for this purpose on its website (feedback form, surveys, blogs, wikis, etc.).

Guarantee of confidentiality of personal data

Responsibilities

Identify yourself using your University ID card or library card.

Go to the circulation desk when you wish to borrow books or any other material from the Library.

Be familiar with and comply with the rules of the Document Delivery Service, which can be consulted on the website.

Staff

Rights

To be treated correctly and efficiently by all Library staff.

Duties

To behave respectfully towards staff and other library users.

To identify yourself as a user whenever requested to do so by library staff.

To show the contents of your bag/backpack if the alarm sounds
