Social commitment: the community library
- The BUS is launching a range of personalised services for people with disabilities to help them access information.
- Torreblanca Fair. This is an initiative of the Torreblanca Verde Association and the TAR Group (a research group coordinated by Julián Lebrato, Professor at the Higher Polytechnic School). The Torreblanca Civic Centre, the East-Torreblanca District and the Polytechnic Library of the University of Seville are involved in its organisation. The main aim is to encourage reading amongst local residents.
- Charity campaigns. The BUS collaborates with other institutions and takes part in awareness-raising campaigns that promote solidarity.
- Collaboration with social and environmental organisations on waste collection initiatives, aimed at facilitating employment for people with disabilities, protecting the environment, or meeting the basic needs of people in disadvantaged socio-economic situations (La Hormiga Verde, the Jane Goodall Foundation, the Grupo Junior Marchena Association, and the Ángel de la Guardia Foundation).
