Delegated loan

What is a delegated loan?

This is a service available to members of the University of Salamanca community, allowing them to authorise another person to collect printed documents from the library on their behalf.

Prerequisites:

  1. Only residents of Seville and its province, or members of the University of Seville (US) academic community, may act as authorised representatives to collect a delegated loan.
  2. The user granting authorisation must not have any outstanding fines with the library, nor have reached the maximum number of items allowed on loan.

Application procedure:

A person who authorises another person to collect a printed document may do so in the following ways:

  1. Send the authorisation by email to the lending library, including your basic details and those of the person you are authorising (surname, first name, email address and ID number of both people). The contact email addresses for the various libraries can be found at this link: https://bib.us.es/contacto/correos
  2. The person may go directly to the counter with an authorisation (printed or on any electronic device) and a copy of the ID card of the person granting the authorisation.

In both cases, the following information must be provided for both individuals—the authorising party and the authorised person: “First name and surname, with ID number …, authorises First name and surname, with ID number … and email address …, to collect the book … Date and signature”. The person who has delegated to another will receive an email notification regarding the loan and can check the “My Account” section to see the documents collected on their behalf, as well as the return date.

The person who has delegated to another will receive an email notifying them of the loan, and will be able to view the items borrowed in their name, as well as the return date, in the “My Account” section.

Returns may be made by anyone at the counter or in the return box of the library that owns the item.
